The skies were blue and the sun was shining as eager skiers and snowboarders flooded Breckenridge Ski Resort to celebrate Veterans Day, 11/11/11 and the kickoff of Breck’s 50th anniversary season.
Breck’s actual 50th birthday will fall on Friday, December 16, 2011 — but that did not stop the resort from spoiling visitors with birthday cupcakes and anniversary beer.
Over the last 50 years, Breck has cemented its place as one of the world’s most popular ski destinations. The resort has hosted millions of guests from around the world and has managed to maintain a reputation as a laid-back welcoming destination, for which it has become famous.
In addition to Friday’s festivities, Breck plans to celebrate on its actual birthday, which conveniently coincides with the resort’s signature annual event, the Winter Dew Tour (Dec. 15-18). For visitors this means an opportunity to watch some of the world’s best athletes compete in snowboard superpipe & slopestyle as well as enjoy a plethera of resort sponsored celebrations throughout town.
The party doesn’t end there. Breckenridge will continue to celebrate its anniversary season all year long with the implementation of the Breck “50 Wishes” campaign. Throughout the course of the season, guests will be able to submit any wish they’d like to see fulfilled at the resort. Breck staff will compile 50 of these wishes and make them come true during the year!
