Guests planning to visit Squaw Valley, California this winter will be delighted to know that eight new shops and restaurants will be open…and what they offer, you can’t just get anywhere! From cutting-edge concept stores to new sweet shops, the new Village at Squaw Valley storefronts will add to the diverse mix of shopping and dining options currently located at the base of the Lake Tahoe ski resort.

The most exciting additions are Salomon, The North Face and Oakley concept stores that will revolutionize the resort’s shopping experience. The new Salomon concept store – the first of its kind in America – will showcase the latest retail technology and offer costumers a full range of Salomon hard and soft goods. Products will range from Salomon skis, boots, snowboards and helmets to the new Salomon goggles and Suunto watches. Salomon will also offer a full range of technical outerwear and apparel. Also notable are the new store’s graphics and design, which will pay homage to the inspiring beauty of the Lake Tahoe area and local Salomon athletes such as Squaw’s own Cody Townsend. The new Salomon concept store is scheduled to open for the 2011 holiday season with a grand opening party hosted by Salomon and Squaw Valley.

The North Face concept store is also all new as it has been relocated and completely redesigned. The store, which will be double in size to its predecessor, will offer a full range of products, including performance outerwear, apparel, footwear, backpacks, sleeping bags, tents and top of the line performance outerwear for infants, toddlers and youth. The North Face store’s new premier location in The Village features fully integrated Squaw imagery, including shots of the resort’s own Big Mountain pro skier, Ingrid Backstrom. With inspiring details integrated into every aspect of the new store, The North Face Store even features unique dressing rooms made entirely of tent and climbing materials. The North Face store is schedule to open for Thanksgiving 2011.

The new Oakley concept store will offer high performance men’s and women’s snow, lifestyle, golf and training apparel, footwear and accessories, in addition to an extensive selection of signature eyewear with unmatched optics that the company is known for. For those interested in grabbing a new pair of custom Oakley goggles or glasses, the store will feature a goggle and sunglass bar, where guests can have the Oakley Custom experience in person. Guests will have an opportunity to hand select sunglass and goggle frames and lens combinations to create their own custom one-of-a-kind piece. The Oakley store is schedule to open in January 2012.

The Village at Squaw Valley also welcomes Farrah Rale Jewelry Design – where guests can create their own jewelry from beautiful gemstones, pearls, crystals, glass, and various gold and silver metals. In addition to assisting customers with crafting their own pieces, Farrah Rale’s bead team is available to assemble custom pieces while guests ski, snowboard or explore Squaw’s mountain activities. Farrah Rale also offers one-on-one classes and private parties. Ready-to-wear pieces are available for purchase in the store. Farah Rale Jewerly is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and until 10 p.m. on Saturdays.

In addition to new shopping experiences, Squaw is adding several new dining options to The Village at Squaw Valley. Full Belly Deli – a favorite sandwich shop amongst Lake Tahoe locals – will be open at the new Full Belly Deli Express in early December. Known for incredible food, service and Truckee authenticity, Full Belly Deli is revising their menu to best service the grab-and-go crowd. Menu items will include breakfast sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, wraps, salads and their unbeatable signature sandwiches.

Finally, guests with a sweet tooth will enjoy the new sweet shops that are coming to The Village this Holiday season. Batch Cupcakery, Euro Sweets and Wildflour Baking Company, to name a few, are amongst the all-star dessert spots available this winter.

To celebrate the launch of the new Village, Squaw is offering anyone who spends $500 at any of The Village at Squaw Valley businesses between November 15 and December 24, 2011 a complimentary adult all day lift ticket (with restrictions) valid for the 2011-12 winter season or two Adult Aerial Tram Tickets valid through summer 2012. To take advantage of this offer, guests should save all receipts from any (non-lift ticket/non-ski pass/non-activity) purchases made at The Village at Squaw Valley restaurants and retail stores, and upon reaching a total of $500, redeem the receipts for a free lift ticket at the Tickets, Passes and Snowsports Center.
