Thanks to Alpine Initiatives and Aspen Skiing Company’s Environment Foundation the “All.I.Can” world tour is officially touching down in Aspen, Colorado, this weekend! Already hailed as one of the best ski movies of the year, the award-winning sustainability-minded film, combines visually stunning cinematography and world-class extreme skiing with a greater message of keeping the sport sustainable in the future.
The much anticipated two year environmental/ski film project by Sherpas Cinema establishes a connection between global environmental issues and the ordinary individual. Among other awards “All.I.Can.” most recently won Best Feature-Length Mountain Film at the Banff Film Festival. The film stars many of the biggest names in skiing like Mark Abma and Rory Bushfield and features several commentaries from Aspen Ski Company’s VP of Sustainability, Auden Schendler.
“The ‘All.I.Can.’ event is about everything Aspen Skiing Company stands for: community, environment and skiing,” says Schendler. First, it’s a fundraiser for a ski industry nonprofit that helps people in need, most recently by building a sustainable AIDS orphanage in Africa. Second, it’s an important and thought-provoking film about beauty, environment, climate change and joy. Last, it kicks ass with blower powder shots and explosive music.”
Before “All.I.Can.” will be the Aspen premier of local Matt Hobbs and Vital Film’s 22 minute film, “If You Want To Fly,” completely shot in Aspen/Snowmass and featuring local athletes Torin Yater-Wallace, Matt Walker, Nick Devore, Charlie Lasser and more.
Tickets are only $10 and all proceeds from the event will benefit Alpine Initiatives, a local non-profit organization focused on engaging the snow sports community in sustainable initiatives that connect people and planet.
And the fun does not end there. The party will continue after the movies at the Red Onion, also benefitting Alpine Initiatives, and featuring free beer until it runs out and $3 well cocktails. Entry to the after party will be $5 for guests with a ticket from the show and $10 without a ticket.
Tickets can be purchased at www.aspenshowtix.com or by calling the Wheeler Opera House at 970/920-5770. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
