Embedded Day 5 – Celebration: Whistler Opens for 2011-2012 – Prepare For Chills!

The fifth installment of Whistler Blackcomb’s A-MAZING web series Embedded, starring Mike Douglas is here! Mike and the staff of Whistler have been hard at work preparing the mountain for the hoards of fully-stoked skiers and snowboarders as they embark upon the opening day for the resort’s 2011-2012 winter season. Today’s episode is entitled “Celebration” — and I challenge anyone to watch today’s episode and not get chills!

The enthusiasm depicted in this video is down right palatable, and is a testament to the passion felt for snow sports and how much Whistler Blackcomb means to riders. After waiting patiently in the early morning line, the floodgates were released and a rainbow of brightly colored skiers and snowboarders with the biggest smiles raced to catch the first tracks of the season. Mike Douglas was waiting at the top to greet everyone and give em a pat on the ass to send them on their way down the luscious snow covered slopes of Whistler mountain.

Check out our in depth coverage of opening day here.

There’s only one more episode left of the Embedded series, but as Mike said, “Its not the end, its just the beginning, ski season is just getting started!” — snowforcast.com is predicting 144cm of snow by Wednesday of next week!!!

Who is checking flights?

Ah! I just watched it again — mega goosebumps!
