Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah is kicking off their 31st winter season with the excitement of the 20th anniversary of the Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest on December 3 and 4, 2011. The invitational ski event pairs former Olympic ski legends with television and film celebrities for a weekend of skiing, live music and fundraising for the environmental group Waterkeeper Alliance, which supports and empowers Waterkeeper member organizations to protect communities, ecosystems and water quality.

“It’s always exciting to open our chairlifts, slopes, lodges and restaurants for a new ski season, and hosting the Celebrity SkiFest for the weekend adds a touch of glamour and fun”, says Deer Valley Marketing Director Coleen Reardon.

The Deer Valley Celebrity Ski Fest will include giant slalom races on both Saturday, December 3rd at noon and a Pro-Am race will take place on Sunday, December 4th at noon as well.

Some legends from skiing will be present, including Steve Mahre, Phil Mahre, Tommy Moe and Deer Valley’s own Ambasador of Skiing Heidi Voekler. Phil and Steve Mahre are well known for winning gold and silver, respectively in the 1984 Olympic Games, and they star in The Ski Channel’s upcoming feature film “Winter”. The twins are quite a quirky duo, and the Mahre clan is one of the most notorious skiing forces in the history of the sport. They are known for being just as passionate about skiing as they are about spending time with friends and family.

Some of the celebrities who are attending include Larry David, Cheryl Hines, Scott Wolf, Patrick Warburton, Oliver Hudson, Bianca Kajlich, Dylan Bruno, Trevor Donovan, Kris Polaha, Hill Harper, JB Smoove, Mark Feurstein and Joey Pantoliano.
