Bar of America in Truckee, California and the Tahoe-based High Fives Non-Profit Foundation are teaming up to raise money for the Foundation, which aids injured winter-sports athletes.

On Thursday, December 15, 2011 the bar is hosting a University of Vermont (UVM) Alumni Party and an evening of beats by The Silver Boombox Thief, a ski movie showing of Meathead Films “Prime Cut” and a contest…all in the name of the charity.  Known for hosting creative fundraising initiatives, there is a theme for this party as well:  Chains are required.

Just as chains are required to drive up Donner Summit during snowstorms, chains (jewelry) are required attire to enter Bar of America the night of the event. The party runs from 8:00pm to closing and admittance is $5 (with chains) $10 (without chains). For those who forget, chains will be available for a donation at the door.

So, gather your bling and get out to support this great cause!
