Thanksgiving Weekend in Aspen: Racing, Music, Firework Celebrations

Posted By: The Ski Channel on December 2, 2011 5:12 pm

Aspen/Snowmass locals had a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day as Aspen Mountain opened to public with blue skies, soft snow, and nearly 200 acres of terrain. The good fortune continued throughout the weekend with the Aspen Winternational, where the world’s fastest women skiers competed in World Cup GS and World Cup Slalom.

Spectators were able to enjoy a prime view of the finish line from the grandstands near Lift 1A as well as live music compliments of the season’s first Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series. A complimentary food tasting from a selection of restaurants across Aspen/Snowmass as well as snacks provided by Cloud Nine, ASC Catering, The Cliffhouse, Ullrhof, Sam’s Smokehouse, Bumps, and the Lynn Britt Cabin kept everyone happy and full.

If you weren’t amongst lucky ones who were able to be there in person, check out these pics and video footage from the event.
