Maine’s Sunday River Resort is celebrating its second annual Winterfest Weekend on December 17th and 18th. The weekend triggers the much anticpated start of 12-Hour Skiing and Riding amidst fireworks, fire dancers, live music, Zipline Tours, special rates on snowboard rentals, winter-themed dining, lodging packages starting at $70 per person, and a visit from the big guy himself — Santa Claus! Saturday, December 17th, will see the celebration kick off at 4 p.m. with $55 rates for 12-Hour Skiing and Riding, along with visits from Eddy the Yeti and Santa Claus.

The after-party will be over at the Foggy Goggle in the South Ridge Base Lodge with live music by the Bon Jovi cover band, “Living on a Bad Name.” An adventurous fine-dining experience can be found only by Chondola ride at a mere 2,000 ft at the resort’s Peak Lodge.
The festivities cross over into Sunday Funday with World Snowboarding Day offering half-price snowboard rentals. Zipline tours will be running all weekend for $49 with purchase of a lift ticket (and Twin Zips are only $15). For more information, visit sundayriver.com.
