Seven Springs Mountain Resort Opens for the 2011/2012 Season

Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Pennsylvania’s premier resort, celebrated its opening for skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing! Thanks to days of intense snow-making, the resort has an average snow base of 18-30 inches. The resort will also feature a newly redesigned rental center stocked with top of the line rentals, providing a better skiing experience for all skill levels.

“Our team did an amazing job preparing the mountain for opening day,” said Iwan Fuchs, Director of Mountain Operations. “Their tireless efforts will provide our guests with a great beginning to another wonderful ski season.”

Resort guests were able to ski and snowboard on at least eight slopes and trails and the Santa’s Beard terrain park with close to a dozen features all serviced by two to three chairlifts and two surface lifts. The slopes will be open during the following hours:

1‐10 p.m., Fri., Dec. 16
9 a.m.‐10 p.m., Sat., Dec. 17
9 a.m.‐9 p.m., Sun., Dec. 18
9 a.m.-9 p.m., Mon., Dec. 19-Thurs., Dec. 22

Ski and board tickets will be one price for all sessions – $37 per adult and $27 per child ages 6-11. These tickets will be valid all day and can be purchased in the Ski Ticket Office. Midweek season pass-holders are also welcome to ski this weekend. Seven Springs Mountain Resort will once again partner with the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program to help make holiday dreams come true for children in western Pennsylvania. Seven Springs will offer $7 off ski/board tickets with the donation of a new unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots campaign, Fri. Dec. 16 and Sat., Dec. 17. The four-year partnership has resulted in the collection of nearly 1,000 toys for children in the region.

Additionally, the newly remodeled Rossignol Experience Center, which is designed to make the rest of the resort experience as accessible, fun and fulfilling as the skis themselves features a new kids’ area adding to the Seven Springs experience. The Burton Experience will also be featured, a personalized snowboard service with the Burton flair. Finally, a convenient retail shop has been added and will stock gloves, hats or even lip balm.

Snowboarders will have great conditions for The Rome SDS Premature Jibulation rail jam event. Seven Springs will host the event Saturday in Santa’s Beard. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the contest will start at 12 p.m. The contest is free and open to all snowboarders, but to be on the slopes, riders must have a ski/board ticket. Rome will be supplying a variety of prizes for the winners and great music.

The snow tubing park will be open beginning Fri., Dec. 16, with downhill thrills available for anyone over the age of 4. Two-hour snow tubing sessions are $25 per adult and $20 per child ages 4-11, Dec. 16-18, and $20 adult and $17 child ages 4‐11, Dec. 19-22. The park will be open during the following hours:
