Thanks to some great snowmaking conditions over the past few days Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, NY was able to open earlier than previously expected, and kicked 2011-2012 season on Tuesday December 13th at 9AM. They had the Yodeler Quad Chairlift in operation all from 9am to 10pm and gave New York skiers and snowboards a chance to ride the steeps of Yodeler and take a mellow cruiser on Candy Cane Loop.

The president and general manager, Dennis Eshbaugh has said, “Snowmaking conditions were better than expected over the last 3 days and we made great progress, allowing us to move the opening one day earlier.”

The Mardi Gras Quad chairlift and slope will opens today, Wednesday, December 14th. Tickets will be $40 adults/$30 juniors for 8 hours and $24 adults/$16 juniors for night tickets from Wednesday through Friday.

The Creekside Quad and School Haus West is set to open on Friday. Depending on the weather for the remainder of the week, there is a good possibility that one or two more chairlifts and slopes will be ready to open on Saturday!
