Heavenly Nevada Side Spans Top-to-Bottom

Heavenly Mountain Resort opened the Stagecoach Express on December 14th allowing skiers and snowboards to hit up top-to-bottom access on the resort’s Nevada side.

“It snows every night at Heavenly,” said Pete Sonntag, Heavenly’s general manager. “There’s no question – if you’re planning on skiing or snowboarding over the holiday season, Heavenly is the place to be. Not only do we have the finest surface conditions, but we’ve got a great variety of terrain for every skill level. And we’ll continue to make the investment in snowmaking to get more and more terrain open for our guests.”

Heavenly, known for being the West Coast’s largest snowmaking system, offers close to 2,400 vertical feet of skiing and snowboarding, 8 miles of snow-covered surfaces, 9 open lifts and 15 open trails, wall-to-wall snow coverage, and snow depths of 18-24 inches.

The Tahoe-based resort has opened a new Bear Cave kids’ center for breaks between a full lineup of lessons for beginners. Heavenly also has an impressive early-season terrain park with 26 features over 2 lines with 30- to 40-foot jumps.

Colder temperatures is forecasted soon and the resort plans to open the California side on Friday, December 16th. Don’t forget that the 13 Days of Christmas at Heavenly Holidays 2011 festival begins Monday, December 19th and runs through the 31st.
