TransWorld SNOWboarding and High Cascade Snowboard Camp are proud to announce the TransAM amateur snowboard contest series is back for the tenth year in a row, with Skullcandy signing on as the presenting sponsor. The 2012 six-stop tour will hit some of the most progressive park resorts throughout the United States, including Waterville Valley, NH, Mountain Creek, NJ, Powder Ridge, MN, Park City, UT, Northstar California, CA and finishing off with the finals at Bear Mountain, CA.

This series will run through the season, offering amateur snowboarders a chance to win the coveted TransAM trophy, products from tour sponsors, prize pack raffles, and signature TransAM gear. The top three male and female riders from each stop will automatically qualify for a trip to the TransAM finals and receive amazing prize packs from contest sponsors including: TransWorld SNOWboarding, Skullcandy, High Cascade, Anon Optics, Zumiez, Ride Snowboards, Giro Helmets, Coal Headwear, Drop, and Muscle Milk. Additionally, one competitor from every stop will be awarded with a $1000 Zumiez gift card for landing a Zumiez Best Trick, voted on by a panel of judges. The overall TransAM champions will walk away with automatic qualification to the 2012 Ride Shakedown finals at Snoqualmie, WA, compliments of Ride Snowboards.

Former TransAM participant and professional snowboarder Chas Guldemond commented, “The TransAM series is a great way for up-and-coming kids to showcase their skills in front of a broader audience than most AM events. Each stop always has the most unique set-ups. It’s fun to watch as the riders pick and choose their lines!”

New to the event this year, Skullcandy has signed on for three years as the presenting sponsor. With Skullcandy’s partnership, the TransAM series is looking to expand, growing its overall stops incrementally over the next few years, beginning in 2013. This year’s TransAM would not be possible without the support of all of its sponsors. Each brand’s dedication towards the upcoming series is greatly appreciated.

Amateur riders interested in participating can enter the TransAM for just $10, also receiving a year’s subscription to TransWorld SNOWboarding magazine with their entry fee.
