While warm weather and low moisture patterns have left many U.S. resorts unseasonably bare, our friends to the North are reveling in snow! Already this season, Whistler has seen more than 10.5 feet of natural snow…combine that with the 175 million gallons of water their snowmaking team has converted into snow and it is no surprise the resort is already 100% open!
“Today we opened the Symphony Express Lift on Whistler Mountain as well as the legendary Peak to Creek trail, the longest continuous run in North America. With these two additions, Whistler Blackcomb is officially 100 percent open, offering 8,171 acres of terrain and a mile of vertical,” says Stuart Rempel, Whistler Blackcomb’s senior vice president of marketing and sales.
With winter in full swing at Whistler Blackcomb, an array of products, services, and experiences accompany the acreage and vertical, all adding to the mountain experience. Keep an eye out for exciting events, promotions and new services, including the Fresh Tracks Mountain Top Breakfast, presented by Globe and Mail, which begins today and runs daily through April 9th, 2012; Whistler Blackcomb Snow School’s new Max4 lesson program; and tubing in Coca-Cola Tube Park from Saturday, December 17th through April 22nd, 2012.
Guests looking for a last minute holiday getaway can take advantage of vacation packages starting at $175 CDN, per person, per night December 17th, 2011 through January 2nd, 2012.
