The U.S. Snowboard Team once again took their places on a packed podium after the Paul Mitchell Progression Session Team SBX event. While France ended-up sweeping the competition earning the first place title for both the men’s and women’s teams the U.S. doubles teams had a brilliant showing and resulted in 2nd place for the men and 3rd place for the women. Friday’s first place winner, Lindsey Jacobellis partnered with Callan Chythlook-Sifsof to seize third place. The men’s duo consisted of Nick Baumgartner and Jonathan Cheever who were edged out in a photo finish!
Nick Baumgartner spoke about their near-win after the podium, “That was a big lead I almost caught up. I just pointed and went for it. I pinned it towards, I almost had him!”
The USANA Snowboardcross Cup caps a 10-day training camp and competition in Telluride, the third year the Colorado resort has hosted the U.S. Snowboarding SBX Team. A formal ceremony showcasing the U.S. Snowboarding SBX Team was held in a nearby plaza immediately following the event. There was a lot to celebrate with both the men and women occupying a number of podiums throughout the weekend.
Not only did the team perform great, but earned his win on his 30th birthday. Nick confirmed, “I feel super pleased. It’s good to be 30″. Nick could be seen rocking some Louthmouth snowboard pants, showcasing some of the wildest prints on the visible spectrum. Check out the interview we did with the founders of Loundmouth a few weeks back, here.
