Northstar is announcing the opening of it’s newest mountain restaurant, the Zephyr Lodge, and it’s latest express quad chairlift, the Promised Land Express. The North Lake Tahoe resort has put $30 million into recently completed capital improvements and is more than ready for the winter season rush.

”We’re excited to open the Zephyr Lodge and Promised Land Express to our guests for the first time, and in advance of the holidays,” said Bill Rock, chief operating officer at Northstar. “The views from the lodge are spectacular, and our guests are going to love the new on-mountain food options it provides. The lift changes the way our guests navigate the mountain, and offers access to some really fun terrain on the Backside of the mountain.”

The 17,000 square foot Zephyr Lodge was completed in 20 short weeks and gives resort guests a fast casual dining experience with unbeatable Sierra Crest views. The latest restaurant allows for 50% more on-mountain seating for diners to enjoy new menu options like the Asian bowl station and Napa salad bar.

The Promised Land Express has a vertical rise of 1,400 feet and successfully doubles the Backside lift capacity. The lift also gives mountain-goers access to a brand new ski pod, expanded gladed terrain, and two new intermediate ski trails (The Islands and Castle Peak).

Northstar offers 15 miles of skiable terrain and is open all-around (top-to-bottom and front-to-back). With the help of quality snowmaking, 2,280 vertical feet with 25 open trails and over 30 Pinball terrain park freestyle features. The new 22′ Shaun White Superpipe will be opened over the holidays.
