Posted By: The Ski Channel on December 22, 2011 6:36 pm

Temperatures are dropping, bells are ringing, and pretty sure I just saw Santa’s sleigh flying back to the North Pole. It is FINALLY time to celebrate New Years, and what’s the best part about the holidays? Skiing and snowboarding after a huge meal, naturally! With our eyes on the prize, The Ski Channel crew will be all over the slopes this holiday in search of the best terrain parks, mountain events, top dining facilities, most luxurious post-ski getaways, and the biggest New Years party around — South Lake Tahoe’s SnowGlobe Music Festival!

As the ultimate Tahoe entertainment, skiers and snowboarders from all over will gather for this three-day event. The lineup is out of this world, with headliners such as dubstep master, Bassnectar, to the chill trance of Theivery Corporation. Ever heard of The Glitch Mob? Yup, they will be there, too! And if you are not quite into the electronic scene, how about Dilated Peoples… the underground hip-hop group coming straight from the Bay Area underground movement. This insane festival will be the spot for any and all skiers and snowboarder nears the state-line.  If South Lake Tahoe is not wild enough on New Years, this show will make the 2012 countdown absolutely unforgettable.

SnowGlobe attendees are receiving a special offer to get in some turns while enjoying the festival. Ski and snowboard in South Lake Tahoe at an incredible rate at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort. They’re offering a $10 discount on lift tickets with a SnowGlobe wristband or proof of purchase (valid through 1/1/12). Just show up at their ticketing office to redeem.

With the purchase of a VIP festival pass, lucky guests receive a free lift ticket to Kirkwood valid from 12/29/11 through the end of the 2011/2012 ski season! This deal is so hot, it is officially sold out…. as are many of the hotels in town due to the madness of the New Years Eve celebration. Get planning fast to book your trip before it is too late!
