Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows Celebrate the Holidays

Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are bringing you full days of holiday celebrations from Santa on skis to holiday parties and the Christmas Eve torchlight parade. Christmas spirit is in The Village air with dazzling lights, ice skating, shopping, and holiday feasting. Squaw Valley has everything you need to celebrate the perfect holiday in a winter wonderland. On top of it all, Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley will be skiing with guests from December 26-30. Check out squaw.com or skialpine.com for more information. The daily holiday schedule is below: 

December 25

2 p.m. Mountaintop Service at Squaw

Give thanks and praise on the mountain this Christmas. Meet at Squaw’s High Camp Sundeck (overlooking the Lake Tahoe). Everyone is welcome. Tram ticket not included.

2 p.m. Mountaintop Service at Alpine Meadows
Celebrate Christmas on the mountain with Tahoe Resort Ministries. Everyone is welcome. Meets at the top of the Roundhouse chairlift. Lift ticket or season pass required.

2 p.m to 5 p.m. Holiday Music at Alpine Meadows
Ride the free Squaw/Alpine Express and enjoy live music that will add a little spirited jingle to the ski day, as the band sings old favorites and fun new classics in the day lodge.

December 26

Stocking Scavenger Hunt
Morning: Find one of the red stockings hidden on the mountain and win free lift tickets and other great prizes! Prizes can be redeemed at the info desk in the Tram building.

2 p.m. Ski with Jonny Moseley
Come on out to take a few laps with Olympic Gold Medalist and Squaw Valley’s Chief Mountain Host, Jonny Moseley. Skiers can join Jonny at the bottom of the Funitel at 2 p.m. for a unique and complimentary mountain tour.

December 27

2 p.m. Ski with Jonny Moseley

December 28

2 p.m. Ski with Jonny Moseley
Come on out to take a few laps with Olympic Gold Medalist and Squaw Valley’s Chief Mountain Host, Jonny Moseley. Skiers can join Jonny at the bottom of the Funitel at 2 p.m. for a unique and complimentary mountain tour.

2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Live music at the KT Base Bar
Come out and enjoy some classic rock on the new KT Base Bar with Eric E.

4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides in The Village
Enjoy a horse drawn sleigh ride through The Village this holiday season. Rides are free for ages 10 and under, $5 for older kids and adults. Sleigh rides start and end in the Tram Plaza.

6 p.m. Delicious Dinner Buffet at High Camp
Those looking to enjoy a delicious dinner in a breathtaking setting can ride Squaw’s Aerial Tram to dinner at High Camp, el. 8200 feet. Backlit by exquisite views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada, the buffet dinner will include a full line up of salads, lobster bisque, tilapia, braise pork shoulders, grilled chicken gnocchi and scrumptious desserts. Dinner is $36 for adults and $19 for children, price does not include Tram ticket. Reservations recommended, call (530) 452-7278 to book.

December 29

Come out for the ‘Be Proud’ Children’s Book Reading with author Colleen Doyle Brandt in the Palisades Conference Room in The Village.

December 31

2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Live music at the KT Base Bar
Come out and enjoy some classic rock on the new KT Base Bar with Eric E.

3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Live Music in the Events Plaza
Grab a hot cocoa or snuggle up around a fire pit and enjoy live music in The Village Events Plaza.

2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pre-New Year’s Eve Cocktail Party at Alpine Meadows
Ride the free Squaw/Alpine Express and plan your new beginning at the Alpine Bar this New Year’s Eve! The Pre-New Year’s Eve Cocktail party is the perfect way to jump-start the countdown to midnight. Featuring festive cocktails, delicious appetizers and live music by Peter Joseph Burtt, skiers and riders can celebrate a resolution, bid 2011 farewell, and ring in 2012.

6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Family New Year’s Eve Party at High Camp
By reservation only. Guests with reservations can ride the Aerial Tram to a buffet dinner, included in the ticket price, and a 9 p.m. champagne toast (sparkling cider for 21 and under). The Aerial Tram will begin to bring guests down in time to view the 9:30 p.m. fireworks display. Adult reservations are$36 and $26 for children. Does not include Aerial Tram ticket.

9:30 p.m. New Year’s Eve Fireworks
Bring in the New Year with Squaw Valley’s fireworks display. Best viewing is from KT Base Bar.

9 p.m. to 2 a.m. New Year’s Eve Party in Olympic House.
Bring in the New Year with music from Mojo Green in the Plaza Bar. DJ Zeb Early will be spinning in Bar One for ages 21 and older with a valid ID. Doors open at 9 p.m. with drink service until 1:30 a.m.

January 1

2 p.m. Mountaintop Service
Give thanks and praise on the mountain on New Year’s Day. Meet at the High Camp Sundeck (overlooking the Lake Tahoe). Everyone is welcome. Tram ticket not included.
