Wyoming saw what was thankfully a “close call avalanche” on Monday morning. A few friends were out skiing and snowboarding Puckerface, which is just outside of Jackson Hole.
After a successful first run, the cameraman captured what would have been a horrific scene at around 11:30am when a snowboarder, about to drop in, triggered a massive slope-clearing avalanche. The boarder narrowly avoided joining the falling snow and the cameraman got some wild footage of the incident. Fortunately, nobody was injured in this avalanche, but this video serves as an important reminder to the dangers faced in the backcountry.
