Sarah Hendrickson Makes History with Record Breaking 107.5 Meter Ski Jump

The US saw a historic win today with the young Sarah Hendrickson from Park City, Utah making her mark in the books with a women’s hill record jump. Coming from behind, Hendrickson made a second jump of 107.5 meters to surpass the leading Daniela Iraschko of Austria and set a hill record! it was a big day for the young skier, today’s victory in Predazzo, Italy marks the third win in four events for Hendrickson — she is having a great season and is enjoying every minute of it.

Sarah spoke of the day’s event, “I love jumping well and I love having good results so this was a perfect day for me. It is a lot of fun jumping in front of a loud crowd as we had here in Predazzo. Winning doesn’t get boring for me.”

The U.S. women’s team continues to lead the National Cup standings after four events. Fellow Park City natives Lindsey Van came in strong at fourth and Jessica Jerome came in sixth. The women will jump again Sunday on the 2013 World Championship venue near Predazzo in Val di Fiemme.
