On behalf of the organizing committee, Jean-Claude Pillot-Burnet, the President of the Club des Sports de Chamonix Mount-Blanc has announced the cancellation of the first downhill training initially scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday February 1st on the Verte des Houches.

Due to nearly a foot of fresh snow falling Monday night and taking in account the good weather forecasted for Thursday, officials found it preferable to cancel the first training session. This delay will allow the event’s 150 volunteers and their 4 grooming machines to efficiently deliver the Verte des Houches in perfect racing condition for Thursday morning. The run had been injected between Sunday and Monday to ensure an under-layer of top quality. Event organizers are committed to providing an ideal course experience for the competition’s skiers.

On Wednesday two runs will be maintained so that the athletes who wish to ski can train. They will have two sites: Les Planards (Chamonix) and the Rouge de Maison-Neuve (Les Houches).

The first race committee meeting will be held on Wednesday February 1st at 17:00 at the Majestic.
