Mad River Glen Lifts are Delayed but the Fun is Right on Schedule

The temperamental winter weather continues at Mad River Glen. They’ve recently received around 8 inches of new snow, which was tragically followed by some less than frozen precipitation. While this results in a solid protective coating on across the mountain terrain, resort staff still needs to remain vigilant to ensure the trails are safe — and they assure that skiers and snowboarders won’t be skiing grass anytime soon!

Visitors will have the Sunnyside Double available to transport them up to the peak from 9:30am-4pm as well as the Callies Corner Handle Tow from 10am-4pm. This is a slight 1/2-hour delay for the usual midweek lift schedule, but it is necessary to ensure continued fun on the mountain for everyone.

There are some great events coming up at the mountain resort as well. As always, Thursdays feature free fondue starting at 3:30pm in the pub. Freewheel Friday offers a discount tele ski lesson. There are two women-only ski clinics coming up as well. There is a telemark clinic on Friday February 3rd, and an alpine clinic on Saturday the 4th.

Then on Sunday the 5th, Mad River Glen and Sugarbush are hosting the Mountain Hardware Ski Mountaineering Race as part of the Randonee Rally Race Series, which is a season-long tour of ski mountaineering races affiliated with the United States Ski Mountaineering Association. While the loopy weather has been a bit unreliable, you can count on some guaranteed good times for Super Bowl weekend at Mad River. To encourage visitors to mix in some slope time with game time the mountain has offered up $25 lift tickets for this Sunday.
