Telluride Opens Palmyra Peak, Black Iron Bowl and the Gold Hill Chutes

Thanks to 42 inches of fresh powder that fell on Telluride Ski Resort over the last two weeks, Palmyra Peak, Black Iron Bowl and the Gold Hill Chutes are now open for business.

The in-bounds, avalanche-controlled terrain boasts some of the best controlled skiing and riding in North America. Palmyra Peak is open up to the peak where skiers and riders can access everything from Electric Shot to Roy Boy. Also Black Iron Bowl to Mountain Quail, Gold Hill Chutes 1, 2, 7 & 8 along with the Gold Hill Stairs and chute 9 have all opened. These double black diamond runs are true favorites and the terrain is as diverse as it gets, with small rocky cliffs, tight trees, open bowls and aspen glades.

“We want to thank our Ski Patrol for all their efforts in the opening of Palmyra Peak and all of our spectacular upper mountain terrain,” said CEO Dave Riley.

Telluride has had some of the best snow conditions all year and the snowiest months of the year are still to come. Telluride’s Spring Specials include Kids Ski Free, Rent Free & Eat Free. Book a five night stay with an adult four day lift ticket and ski rental package and receive a comparable child lift ticket and ski rental for free. Also included is a $50 Mountain Dining Card for lunches at one of our on-mountain restaurants. This offer is good for stays from February 26 through the end of the season on April 8, 2012. Other packages feature Stay & Ski from $107, Stay & Spa with a $100 spa credit, and 5th Night Free at the luxury Hotel Madeline.
