Yogis, skiers, and snowboarders prepare yourselves for an event for the ages. On the weekend of March 16-18 in Kirkwood, CA, SUBARU, Marmot, and CLIF Bar will be putting on the Freeride/Flow/Festival. The goal of the festival is to get professional skiers and snowboarders, yoga enthusiasts, industry vendors, recreational skiers and winter enthusiasts together for an exhilarating weekend of clinics, workshops, and classes, and performances. It’s not your average snooze-fest type of classes but rather an active approach to learning both on and off the mountain. Clinics start with yoga and meditation and end with late night DJ’s and dancing. It is open to the public and is not a competitive event. If you’re looking at challenge yourself on the slopes or in the backcountry, head to the festival. There are learning opportunities for all skill levels and will aid you on your quest for a thrilling ride but will teach you how to avoid the hospital. Also making an appearance at the festival are organizations such as Save Our Snow, an organization who serves to fight against climate change. They will receive some of the proceeds to help them with their cause. The Freeride/Flow Festival is aimed at promoting integration and interaction, getting people outdoors with sports, yoga, and music. And it’s a completely earth-conscious-leave no trace event.
