Julia Ford claimed her second straight U.S. downhill championship after her fifth consecutive race to sweep the women’s speed series in Aspen. Ford claimed victory in two NorAm super G races and a pair of NorAm downhills to movie within one point of Abby Ghent who is the in the NorAm overall lead.

“Aspen offers a little of everything. This year there seems to be a lot of terrain so that was really fun and a part of the course I really look forward to – it just seems to suit the way I ski. If you win once, you want to win again”, said Ford.

Ghent followed in second during the U.S. Championship race with Brooke Wales close behind. The U.S. titles for super G, giant slalom and slalom will be awarded March 28 – April 1 as part of the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships at Winter Park Resort.
