Loon Mountain has recently announced that Jeffrey McIver has been hired to be the new General Manager of the Mountain Club.
McIver was most recently serving as the President and General Manager of the historic BALSAMS Grand Resort Hotel where he has consistently increased revenues throughout the past two years at the helm. He is credited for defying the economic slump and reinvigorating the style and guest serviced the resort is renowned for. Taking on this latest role is actually a return of McIver, who was the General Manager earlier in his career.
The Mountain Club at Loon is a resort and spa located at the base of Loon Mountain Resort in New England. The establishment recently underwent $9 million in renovations, featuring upgrades to its rooms, common areas, operational facilities, and its restaurants. These enhancements will provide even greater off-slope experiences for the mountain’s guests.
“I am very excited to be returning to the Mountain Club on Loon, which is such a unique property, offering four-season recreation and the only ski-in, ski-out hotel accommodations at what I believe is one of the best ski areas in the Northeast,” said McIver. “The Mountain Club has the location, the views and all of the amenities today’s guests want. What I plan to add are the energy, culinary excellence, service, and non-stop activities that guests rarely experience.”
The 234-room hotel resort and spa, nestled on a slope-side bluff overlooking the Pemigewasset River in Lincoln, New Hampshire, has 117 suites that sleep up to six guests, each dividable into separate Club rooms with king beds and Studios with queen/double beds, a full kitchen and dining area. Four larger two-bedroom Grand Suites can accommodate up to 12 guests.
Skiers and snowboarders visiting Loon Mountain can enjoy ski-in, ski-out accessible lodging that also features extremely convenient garage parking. The rooms are also within walking or skiing distance to the Black Diamond Bar and Grille and the Viaggio Spa & Health Club. The Viaggio features two heated pools (one outdoor and one indoor), a whirlpool and saunas, Yoga/Pilates studios, a weight room, and indoor racquetball and basketball courts. The Club’s conference-meeting room facilities, accommodating 20 to 250 people, was a recipient of the prestigious 2011 “Best of the East” Award from Meetings Focus East magazine and Smart Meeting’s “Platinum Choice” award.
“Bringing Jeff back to the Mountain Club on Loon is a testament to our ongoing commitment to ensure the greatest year-round experience for our guests,” said Ken Lowe, President of the Mountain Club on Loon Management Board, which owns and operates the resort. “Jeff has worked at some of the finest resorts in the country, and between our $9 million renovation and his vision for delivering a grand guest experience we believe visitors to the Mountain Club on Loon will enjoy a stay that is rivaled only by our incredible views.”
