The slopes of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows have been getting creamed with snow thanks to a massive storm front that is having its way with the region. As of Thursday the mountains had received over 57 inches of fresh powder! This is an absolutely fantastic way for both mountains to kick of the month of March, and proves that good things come to skiers and snowboarders if they are patient! The snow has been falling at a consistent rate since Monday, with each resort averaging about a foot of new snow each day.  The stormy weather was going strong up until late Thursday night. Since then, the clouds have parted and presented the visitors of Squaw Valley and Alpine meadows with a beautiful start to their weekend. Be prepared for great driving conditions, fantastic weather and INCREDIBLE powder runs ahead!

Don’t be afraid to start your weekend early!
