The US Open Snowboarding Championships 30th Anniversary celebration is shaping up to be a display of huge talent and entertainment both on and off the slopes.  MINI is sponsoring the exciting event starting March 5th and ending March 11th in Stratton, Vermont.  It promises to be their best showdown of the last three decades.

It all begins with top-notch athletes.  Some of best halfpipe and slopestyle snowboarders in the world will make an appearance including Shaun White, Kazuhiro Kokubo, Iouri Podladtchikov, Louie Vito, Mark McMorris, Danny Davis, Scotty Lago, Sebastian Toutant, Kelly Clark, Hannah Teter, Enni Rukajarvi, Jamie Anderson and Gretchen Bleiler, among others.

The Burton US Open is bringing out the big guns in honor of 30 years of excellence.  They’ve got late-night entertainment covered with popular mash-up artist dream team, Super Mash Bros, headlining Friday at the Burton x Mountain Dew Party.  Saturday night will bring out hip-hop lovers for superstars Method Man (of Wu-Tang Clan) and Redman (of Def Squad) performing at the ‘30th Love’ party, powered by Nokia.

And better yet, everyone is welcome to join in historic 30th anniversary of the US Open for free.  It will be an epic week packed full of snowboarding action and a next-level sponsor village at Stratton Mountain.  The slopestyle finals will be on Friday, March 9th, followed by a retro-themed ‘slingshot’ race for legendary Open competitors called ‘The Washed Up Cup’ that night.  Kick of the weekend Saturday morning with the signature US Open halfpipe finals and an invitational “Night Jam” held under the lights at sunset.

This is a must-see event, so if you can’t make it to the mountain, check out the semi-finals and finals live on the web at Redbull.tv or from the comfort of your couch on Universal Sports on Friday March 9 and Saturday March 10.

Other sponsors include Stratton Mountain Resort, Mitch by Paul Mitchell, 3M Thinsulate™, Contour, Shiseido, G-Shock and TTR Pro Snowboarding.
