The OnTheSnow 2012/2013 Ski Test began early this morning in Aspen, Colo.  The purpose is to test out over 100 of next year’s best frontside, all mountain, powder and park and pipe skis.  Ski manufacturers from all around the world have descended on the Roaring Fork Valley with the boards that they believe skiers will want to use come next season.  OTS has lined up a star-studded group of of both male and female testers.  From racers to rippers to the good ol’e regular joes, the group will put each board through the ringer, confirming that you get the most-comprehensive gear guide in the ski industry.

Last night, Vail Instructor and Ski Magazine’s former women’s ski test director, Krista Crabtree gave the lowdown on the test.  It’s Krista’s job to get everyone prepared, teaching participants the latest ski technique, as well as how to test the skis. Early this morning, OTS loaded up a snowcat full of skis, snacks and test forms and sent it to the top of Ajax Mountain.  Following the meeting, each skier got a swag bag full of gear and grub from ski test partners: Dakine, Good ‘N Natural, Gore, H20 Overdrive, Scott and Wigwam.

The test began with the frontside skis. Make sure to check out On the Snow’s Facebook page and Twitter feed for the latest Ski Test updates from Aspen!
