With nearly five feet of new snow last week and Spring just around corner, there are a million reasons why now is the best time to ski or ride in Lake Tahoe. If that isn’t an enough of an enticement though, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows have given visitors two more reasons to hit the slopes this Spring season: deep discounts and world-class events!

Starting with lift tickets, Sqaw and Alpine Meadows have joined forced to present the Springback Super 4-Pack. With this package, visitors can ski or ride for four unrestricted days during the remainder of the 2011-12 winter season at either resort. Once a skier or rider has used up the Springback 4-Pack’s four unrestricted days – the pass can be reloaded in one day increments for just $59 per day for adults and $21 per day for kids 12 and under. Skiers and riders who have previously purchased the Tahoe Super 4-Pack or the Tahoe Super 6-Pack will also be able to reload their passes at this discounted rate.

The Springback Super 4-Pack is available for purchase online at squaw.com and skialpine.com, or by phone at 1-800-403-0206.

Now on to the events. At Squaw Valley, Spring means a complete calendar of events ranging from après music in the Village at Squaw Valley to High Camp pool parties and on mountain competitions.

This year, the Spring season kicks-off with the opening of the High Camp Pool and Hot Tub (scheduled to open in mid
March).  A pool located at 8,200 feet, visitors can soak up the sun while looking over Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada. In addition to the pool and hot tub, Squaw’s Umbrella Bar serves up cocktails daily and the Poolside Café offers delicious dining overlooking the pool.

Just on the other side of the ridgeline, Alpine Meadows is also known for great Spring skiing and offering a jam-packed schedule of non-stop fun. Highlights include the Ice Bar at the bottom of Sherwood Run, which provides visitors with the perfect place to relax with friends and catch a few rays sunshine. The Spring Music Series, which features live music every weekend throughout the Spring season, is also a feature event that should not be missed!
