An Alpine Event Like No Other, The Nature Valley Championships Are Coming to Winter Park

Winter Park Resort, NASTAR and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) have teamed up to present the mother of all ski racing festivals: The Nature Valley Championships. Beginning March 22, this ten day, action packed mega-race brings recreational racers and U.S. Ski Team members together to celebrate the sport of alpine racing like never before.

Comprised of four distinct racing events, The Championships feature the Nature Valley NASTAR National Championships, the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships, a Family Challenge team race with U.S. Ski Team alumni and a Pro-Am Team Competition, where recreational racers can add a U.S. Ski Team member to their team.

To further unite members of the skiing community, the celebration will include parties, concerts, Warren Miller movies, race video and games. Amongst others, high-profile athletes including, Ted Ligety, Mikaela Shiffrin, Stacey Cook, Picabo Street, Heidi Voelker, Doug Lewis and AJ Kitt plan to participate.

The Nature Valley Championships are designed to rally the industry and American alpine racers around one event. Recreational racers and fans of the sport will have the opportunity to meet, race and compete with and against their heroes on the U.S. Ski Team, said Bill Madsen Director of NASTAR Operations.

Winter Park Resort, Colorado will host The Championships celebration March 22-April 1. The Nature Valley NASTAR National Championships are March 23, with Team races taking place on March 26 & 27 and the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships March 28-April 1.
