The Red Bull Signature Series continues its domination of network television in the debut broadcast of the 2012 Cold Rush competition on NBC. Tune into the action on Saturday at 10am PST/1PM EST. After seeing all the photos and stories from this year’s completion there is no question that this will be an action sports spectacle that needs to be seen to be believed! The broadcast will be hosted by none-other than Sal Masekela, one of the most recognized commentators in the action sport industry.

The invitation-only event takes place across the epic slopes of Silverton Mountain. The Colorado peaks boast the highest and steepest ski area in North America, and can only be accessed via helicopter or hiking. The high-alpine bowls, chutes and cliffs are some of the most unique, challenging features available — and could not be a more fitting stage for the top freeskiing athletes in the world to test their mettle. With peer-judged runs, and the title of “best all-around backcountry skier” on the line, the Red Bull Cold Rush is a competition like no other.

While the best overall male and female skier have already been crowned in the pre-taped event, viewers still have the opportunity to have their voices heard. Fans can head online to visit www.redbullusa.com/coldrush, and cast their vote for the athlete they felt threw down the best performance throughout the competition. The skier that receives the most love from the public will win the People’s Choice Award and will receive an additional $1,000 bonus. The votes are already streaming in and will continue through March 26th when the winner will be announced online.

So don’t bother getting dressed tomorrow, because you have a date with the “boob tube” and the Red Bull Signature Series. The action captured during this year’s Cold Rush is so jam packed with excitement that you might not want to even blink for fear of missing a single hit!

To keep the stoke level high until tomorrow’s broadcast, check out all the hard work course designer, competitor, and freeski legend Pep Fujas and the crew underwent to ensure this was the greatest Cold Rush to date!
