A Portland Man has been missing since late Monday. The individual, whose name has not been released, was reportedly an avid nordic skier. While it is unclear whether he in fact went skiing at the mountain, search and rescue workers from Hood River and Clackamas counties continue to check cross-country skiing areas around Mount Hood.

Detective Matt English of the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office explained that both his office and the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by the Portland Police Bureau Monday after the man’s family reported him missing.

“At this point, there’s no information that he’s even in Hood River County,” said English. But rescue workers were scouring places such as Laurence Lake, Kingsley Lake, Lost Lake and other popular nordic areas just to double check.

As of Tuesday evening, searchers haven’t found any signs of the missing person or their vehicle. More on this story as additional details are released.
