Sunday River Resort is closing down its winter season this Sunday, April 15th, but they’re not going out without a bang. This Sunday, the mountain invites skiers and snowboarders to come out for Ski Mania and enjoy a free day of skiing and riding. The day also marks the resort’s annual Passholder Appreciation BBQ, for its current New England Passholders. The weekend should be a blast especially since the forecasts are calling for a blue bird weekend.
“Our guests have come to expect a long season with great conditions,” Dana Bullen, Sunday River’s president and general manager, says. “We were able to host racing teams and large groups early and late in the season because we had the snow. Now, we have a chance to show even more appreciation for our guests with our annual Ski Mania and Passholder BBQ.”
The mountain currently has 30 trails open thanks to a great year of snowfall. The fun kicked off with a pre-Halloween opening for the resort’s fourth year in a row. Thanks to top-notch grooming and snowmaking operations the resort’s trails have excellent coverage.
To ski or ride for free on Sunday, guests must simply swing by the ticket counters at South Ridge or Barker base lodges to acquire a lift ticket on Sunday morning.
Now if you’re bumming about being excluded from this year’s Passholder Appreciation BBQ, you only have yourself to blame. Start the next season off right by taking the money saved from the free lift ticket and put it towards a 2012-13 New England Pass. The pass will get you in on the fun at all of Boyne Resorts’ mountains including Sunday River, Sugarloaf and Loon Mountain. All you need is a $50 down payment before April 30th to lock yourself into an Easy Pay Plan that has no interest rates.
The crews will take a brief hiatus and then re-open summer activities on June 29th. The fun will kick off in full force with the mountain bike park, zipline tours, geocache adventures, scenic lift rides, hiking and more!
Coinciding with the late-season snowmaking, Boyne Resorts, managers of Sunday River, launched the 2012-13 New England Pass sale. Until April 30, the 2012-13 New England Pass, valid at Sunday River, Sugarloaf, and Loon Mountain, is available at the lowest prices of the year. A $50 down payment before April 30 will lock in those low rates with an Easy Pay Plan and no interest rates. The New England Pass also offers up discounts and deals at all three resorts as well as other Boyne properties across the country.
