Most people associate golfing with warm weather and blue skies of spring or summer afternoon on the green with a couple of friends. Alpine Meadows is redefining what it means to have a good day of golf.
On April 21, 2012 from 9am to 1pm, guests are invited to play nine holes starting at the top of the Summit Express chair, working their way back to the base. The last holes will bring participants to the bottom of Alpine Bowl Chair.
Bring tropical paradise to snow country! Hawaiian attire is strongly encouraged; leis, grass skirts, coconut bras, and flowered shirts are more than welcome to make an appearance.
Registration is free at the top of Summit Express. All golfers will receive scorecards, pencil, clubs, and balls…tennis balls, that is. Leave the golf carts behind, because in order to compete, skis or snowboards must be worn between holes. But fear not. They can be removed to drive, chip, and putt. No one wants you to have to explain that your broken bone is from golfing.
An awards ceremony will be held shortly after the event on the Sun Deck at 3pm, and scorecards will be thrown into a raffle for the great prizes including golf certificates to Coyote Moon, Old Greenwood or Gray’s Crossing, Tahoe Donner Golf Course, and Squaw Creek Golf Course. The highest score from each card will also win a prize.
One lucky winner will take home the grand prize package: three days and two nights at the beautiful Mission Hills Country Club in Palm Springs for two people. It will include overnight accommodations at the Villas at Mission Hills and two rounds of golf each day, with availability.
It’s going to be a good time, so brush up on your golf skills, because moving around on the snow is only half the battle!
