Winter hasn’t taken the hint in Breckenridge, and locals couldn’t be happier. Ski patrol reported five inches of new snow this morning bringing the seven-day total to 22 inches of white. And it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Breck has been granting wishes all season long, celebrating 50 years, and they just announced their 50th and final one. A season extension. After asking Facebook fans for ideas of what to do with the last wish, the answer was clear. They wanted to ski and snowboard past the original closing date, and the resort took notice.
The resort’s 50th season extension is starting out with excellent conditions. They have opened 4 lifts, one carpet and 834 acres of terrain at Peak 8 alone, including the Imperial Express SuperChair. Don’t miss the chance to get some last minute slope-time with the two additional weekends! Breck will operate April 20-22 and April 27-29 from 9am to 4pm each day.
In honor of their 50th season extension, $50 day tickets will be offered to those without passes. And free parking will be included in the gondola lots. Lesson prices are being discounted as well. Take advantage of great prices with half-day adult lessons starting at $59 and full-day children’s lessons for $99. There will also be a Breck Sports tent sale at Peak 8 during the open weekends. Over 100 pairs of demo skis will be up for grabs at reduced prices!
This is the first time since merging with Vail Resorts in 1996 that Breckenridge will keep the doors open longer than they planned. They are the only resort in Colorado to vocalize extension plans this year.
Come on. Celebrate the snow!
