The Vermont Ski Areas Association (also known as Ski Vermont) has recently named Sarah Neith as their new Director of Public Affairs. Ski Vermont is the private non-profit trade association serves as the collective voice for Vermont’s 18 Alpine and 30 Nordic member resorts. Since 1969, the organization has been dedicated to serving its member resorts through governmental affairs, marketing and public affairs. In her new position, Sarah will work closely with Vermont’s various ski resorts to maintain and improve winter tourism through Ski Vermont’s public relations efforts and the association’s youth and agricultural programs.
“We are thrilled to have Sarah on board,” said Ski Vermont President Parker Riehle. “With her strong background in public relations and her lifelong passion for skiing, Sarah will be a great addition to our team as we gear up our efforts to ideally position the ski areas for next season.”
Neith, a graduate of the University of Vermont acquired a great deal of public relations and marketing management experience through her role with ISIS outdoor apparel and Ashgate Publishing. In addition to her work experience, Sarah has developed a strong understanding of sport and mountain culture thanks to her time as a ski patroller in Vermont since 2004.
“As the ski season has just wrapped up, I’m excited to focus my energy on planning for a successful 2012-13 winter.” said Neith. “I’m particularly excited to support and grow the 5th Grade Passport Program, which opens the door for youth to experience the magic of this lifelong sport for free. And, we’re currently gearing up to once again donate the net proceeds from this program to Keep Local Farms, an organization that promotes Vermont dairy farms.”
Neith replaces Jen Butson who has been appointed as the new Director of Communications for the Vermont Department of Tourism & Marketing.
