Canyons Resort springs back to life this Friday as The Farm, Canyon Mountain Sports and the 18-hole village Putting Course commence operations for the summer season.
“Summer is almost here,” said Canyons Managing Director Mike Goar. “The mountain is turning various shades of green, fresh produce is arriving in our kitchens and our guides are eager to welcome everyone back to Canyons for what promises to be a spectacular summer season.”
Talisker Restaurant Collection Executive Chef John Murcko is introducing inspired summer menus at all of his dining establishments, including The Farm. Last week, Murcko traveled to five artisan growers in northern Utah in search of ideas for new locally sourced ingredients.
“We’ve built our reputation on the great products that Utah artisan farmers deliver all summer long,” Murcko said. “The Farm summer menu is all-new. Guests will love it.”
The windmill is turning again at Canyons 18-hole Putting Course. Water hazards and sand traps dot the mountain-themed course, while benches, umbrellas, Adirondack chairs and soaring western skies greet families of all ages who enjoy this throwback pastime. Rent Ping putters and pay your greens fees ($8/adults; $6/kids) at Canyon Mountain Sports – or take in the action from one of the restaurant patios.
With dedicated mountain bikers already accessing some of Canyons’ vast network of trails from trailheads in the village, Canyon Mountain Sports (9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily) is eagerly anticipating the opening of Canyons Bike Park on June 14. That’s when Red Pine Gondola and High Meadows lift will start ferrying bikers and hikers up the mountain. The CMS staff has assembled a fleet of state-of-the-art GT and Cannondale bikes, which are ready to roll off the rental racks this Friday. Canyons Mountain Bike Academy opens June 14 as well, offering clinics and individualized riding instruction for all ages and abilities, with an emphasis on gravity and singletrack terrain.
Upcoming important dates include the first Park City Farmers’ Market (June 6), the season opening of the Red Pine Adventure Center (June 14) and the first film from the Sundance Institute Summer Series (June 21).
