US Summer Open of Snowskating Comes to the Windells Campus on Mt. Hood

The 2nd Annual US Summer Open of Snowskating is taking place at Mt. Hood in the Windells camp on July 4th and 5th. This event attracts snowskaters from across the US. It promises a fierce competition among the who’s who of snowskating, and the amenities available in the Windells Campus are sure to make the event unforgettable.

There will be bi-deck and single deck divisions. Registration is $40 and will take place at the Wyeast Lodge at 10:00am on July 4, 2012. Lodging is available for $20 per night on the Windells Campus.

This event is a must attend! With such poor snow accumulation in the Lake Tahoe area and other parts of the US, this might be your last chance at summer snowskating!

I’m Kendra Wilson, creator of ProjectSnowskate.com.  With Project Snowskate, I’m trying to bring snowskating to the forefront of the snow sports industry.  I’m bringing attention to snowskate companies, athletes, events, technology, etc.

For me, snowskating is the most fun way to ride snow, and I want to share that with people.    Right now, snowskating is still very misunderstood, if not unknown. Some resorts don’t allow snowskating citing that it is unsafe or not covered by their insurance.  However, resorts that have really looked into the issue have found that snowskating is just as safe as other accepted snow sports and that there is no insurance issue.

My goal is for snowskating to become so visible that all resorts take a second look at their policies.  I know that once they do, they will find no reason to restrict access to snowskaters.
