The largest public grassroots ski race program in the world, NASTAR, welcomes Olympic Gold Medalist, Julia Mancuso, as a new official ambassador! She will be joining fellow Olympian, Ted Ligety in representing NASTAR.
NASTAR executive director of Partnerships and Strategic Alliances, Johnny Alamo, expresses his excitement. “It is an honor to have 2006 Olympic gold medalist Julia Mancuso as our Nature Valley NASTAR ambassador. Julia is one of the most decorated female ski racing athletes in the world and an inspiration to the Next Generation of Ski Racing.”
Mancuso is one of the most accomplished American female alpine skiers of all time. Her impressive resume includes three Olympic gold medals, five World Cup wins, four World Championship medals and a historic 12 National Championship crowns. She is the embodiment of successful skiing, an inspiring role model and company ambassador.
“I remember the first day I ski raced at age 8 with my parents on a NASTAR course in Tahoe, it was super fun being able to carve turns really fast and fostered a dream to one day be in the Olympics. Nineteen years later, I’ve been privileged to ski in the 2002, 2006, 2010 Olympics – I guess you could say my dream came true.”
Not only is she an incredible athlete, but “Super Jules” is also known for her philanthropy, and well as her entrepreneurship. She recently launched Big Truck Headwear in Tahoe, a custom hat company founded on creativity and individual style expression.
