For those of you who can’t make it to next season without some more snow to shred, it’s time to head over to South America! Valle Nevado, located just outside of Santiago, Chile, is pleased to announce that it will open on June 23. They have received 50 cm of snow this weekend, adding to last week’s storm of 30 cm, giving them a total base of 80 cm. Chile expects more storms in the near future.

The first step in preparation to shred South America is to book your flight. Valle Nevado’s season is scheduled to run from June 23 to October 2, so be sure to schedule your travels within that time period. Lan Airlines and Valle Nevado offer a special discount package specifically for those flying to Chile from the United States or Canada. Depending on what days you plan on traveling, you may receive up to 30% off on all-inclusive week-long stays at local hotels, lift tickets, and equipment rentals.

The second step is to reserve lodging. Valle Nevado‘s 3 hotels, Tres Puntas, Puerta del Sol and Valle Nevado, will open June 29. Stay at Puerta del Sol for family-friendly accommodations, equipped with game rooms and patios with gorgeous views of the mountain. For those looking for convenient skiing and a good time with friends, Tres Puntas is located 150 meters from the ski tracks and is complete with a great pub and restaurant.  Hotel Valle Nevado offers refined lodging and ski-in, ski-out accommodations as well. Book your hotel reservations in advance along with your flight to receive the great discounts offered.

Finally, prepare to have a ton of fun.  Most services, including restaurants, ski rentals, stores, and lessons, will be open to the public June 23. You can get the discounted lift tickets with Lan Airlines, or even better, thanks to Mammoth Mountain and Valle Nevado’s recent partnership, Mammoth season pass holders receive seven free lift tickets at Valle Nevado.

Along with over 7,000 acres of terrain for your skis to explore in Valle Nevado, you can look forward to Chili’s very first gondola, the Image Quest photography camp, their radical heli-skiing excursions, and the expansion and upgrade of Valle Nevado’s lodge. With all of Chile’s fresh snow and preparations, Valle Nevado is ready for your visit. Are you?
