Summertime at ski resorts can be places for guests to try out the various activities that can’t be normally enjoyed during winter. Some Ski Resorts use that time to fix or improve the mountain for the upcoming season. Deer Valley Resort is one of the resorts that have decided to make improvements. The resort is adding a scheduled $8 million in renovations and improvements for the upcoming season.

Leading the list of upgraded amenities is the replacement of the Deer Crest chairlift on Little Baldy Mountain with a high-speed detachable quad lift to be named Mountaineer Express chairlift,  which will increase the uphill skier capacity by 1,200 skiers per hour.

The improvements are being made to keep it amongst the top-tier ski resorts in the country. “Deer Valley Resort is dedicated to remaining the #1 resort in North America and we are continually assessing needed improvements that will be the most advantageous to our guests,” resort president and general manager Bob Wheaton said.

Additional improvements will include remodeling the Snow Park Restaurant, replacing the wooden deck at Empire Canyon Lodge with heated pavers, expanding snowmaking capabilities to more terrain in Empire Canyon and purchasing additional low-energy, air-water guns, and purchasing five additional Prinoth Snowcats, including one Beast Groomer. The improvements should help the overall experience for the guests this upcoming season.
