Garmont recently announced that female competitive telemark skier Kasha Rigby has joined their team of athletes. Outside Magazine announced her as “The best female telemark skier in the known universe”. Rigby’s career highlights include a trek across India’s frozen Zenskar River and the climb and descent of 21 peaks in 21 days.
In addition, Rigby counts the Mongolia Women’s Ski Expedition and the Kamchatka Women’s Ski Expedition amongst her many career accomplishments. She’s conquered Choy Oyu, explored the Yukon Territories to Dry Bay, Alaska, and traversed the Mt. Lebanon Range. Rigby has descended some of the highest peaks in Siberia as well as the world’s highest active volcanoes, Cotopaxi (5897m) and Chimborazo (6310m). Her passion for telemark skiing evolved as a teenager growing up in Utah; she left college at 19 to pursue telemark racing and extreme skiing competitions full-time.
“We are in awe of Kasha’s passion for exploring the world on skis,” President of Garmont North America David Fee said. “She will prove a valuable asset to the Garmont team as she continues to dominate the world of female telemark skiing.”
The internationally recognized pro skier will push the limits of Garmont’s outstanding line of telemark boots through comprehensive product testing and provide valuable feedback from the female perspective. “I am so stoked to join Garmont’s elite team of athletes,” Rigby said. “They manufacture an exceptional line of female tele boots that always exceed my expectations for fit and performance.”
