Squaw Valley LogoSquaw Valley  is celebrating the Fourth of July in style with a week of festivities culminating with a free Brett Dennen concert on July 7, 2012.  This Northern California native has had multiple hits including last summer’s “Comeback Kid (That’s My Dog)” and “Sydney (I’ll Come Running).”

“We had a phenomenal turnout for last year’s free Big Head Todd and the Monsters concert over 4th of July Weekend – and we want to continue that tradition by bringing more big name acts to Squaw for everyone to enjoy,” said Sean Kristl, Squaw Valley’s Marketing Manager.

With a fresh and unique style, Dennen has collaborated with Femi Kuti, Natalie Merchant, and Jason Mraz; toured with John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and The John Butler Trio; and played at Bonarroo, Austin City Limits, Coachella, Outside Lands, and Newport Folk Festival.

His music is poetic with chill, funk/African-inflected grooves that you can’t help but smile when you hear.

Speaking about his latest album “Loverboy,” Dennen said, “I want people to put on Loverboy and feel good. I want to make people dance!”

The show will be in the natural amphitheater at the base of KT-22 at 6pm.

The Village at Squaw Valley is only a few minutes walk away from the venue and is offering 15% off lodging rates when guests book two nights in honor of the occasion.  As part of the deal, they are giving out two free tickets to Squaw Valley’s Aerial Tram and mountaintop pool ($82 value) with each room.  Rates for the weekend start at $223 per night for a one-bedroom condo suite.

Celebrate your Fourth of July weekend with good friends, good music, and good times in one of the most stunning natural landscapes in California!  And don’t forget the party at Squaw is just getting started.  The weeklong revelries begin tomorrow, June 30 with an arts and crafts festival and will feature blues guitarist Chris Cain on Tuesday.  Go to their website for a complete list of events.
