Neil Diamond’s song America beckons you to fellowship, great food, fun and fireworks.  You have the hot dogs and the watermelon. You don your favorite stars and stripes attire. The only thing missing is a location.  Where is the best place to celebrate Fourth of July?  Naturally, we think ski resorts are the best. We love them in the winter. We love them in the summer. They are nestled in the mountains and nestled in our hearts.   The choice is easy- definitely ski resort. The difficult part is deciding which one.  We have comprised a list of five top resorts to gather this July Fourth.

Aspen Mountain- Aspen has it all; an extensive list of activities can be found here, but to mention a few prominent events, Aspen offers an Old Fashioned 4th of July Parade down Main Street, picnics, a pool party, a free concert, a carnival, a BBQ, and a Fireworks Extravaganza.  It sounds like everything the Fourth should be- a seriously good time.

Mammoth Mountain- We love Mammoth.  We commend Mammoth Mountain for embracing a positive fun-filled summer agenda despite the current bankruptcy of the city of Mammoth Lakes. Mammoth Lakes isn’t letting hard times get in the way of Fourth Festivities.  Mammoth Mountain is hosting a hardy list of events from a hot dog eating contest, to a farmers market, to a “Fireworks Spectacular” show. The city of Mammoth will also be having a local parade.  Definitely give Mammoth your support, because they certainly deserve it and the have a lot of fun happenings planned.
