The Pros Take Over Bear Mountain

Bear Mountain hosted the 9th annual Hot Dawgz & Hand Rails this past Saturday. the event, presented by Red Bull, had professional jibbers and fans gather from all over the country to compete for cash prizes. Bear Mountain laid over 130 tons of snow to create all new park features for the riders to show off their unique styles and tricks.

Park designer and experienced jibber, Clayton Shoemaker said, “With 10-11 line options, this is definitely the biggest and most fun course we’ve ever set up for HDHR.” Shoemaker conceptualized the course and is made it a reality. “Each year we take the urban park set-up to another level, and the best part is all these new features will be in the Red Bull Plaza for the public to ride this 2012-2013 season.”

The event featured up and coming snowboarders including Bear Mountain team riders Joe Sexton, Dylan Alito, Brandon Hobush, Zak Hale, Desiree Melancon and Scott Vine. Along with the competition of over 40 snowboarders, fans had the chance to enjoy live music, games, giveaways and a hot dog eating contest.
