The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association has announced the appointment of Dave Morin as its newest trustee. Morin, a highly accomplished entrepreneur, is the co-founder and CEO of the popular social networking company Path.
The 31-year old technology mogul is a life-long ski enthusiast that grew up with USSA in his blood. He was a member of the USSA Junior Olympic alpine ski racing team, and his grandfather Amos “Bud” Little served as the USSA President, Vice President of the International Ski Federation and was also a ski official for a number of years. Now following in “Bud’s” footsteps, Morin is going to perpetuate his family’s legacy and the success of the world’s leading skiing and snowboarding organization.
“Dave brings an innovative new aspect to our board,” said Marolt. “His heritage and passion for the sport is infectious and his network of highly successful fellow entrepreneurs who also love skiing and snowboarding will be a great benefit for our athletes in achieving their goals.”
Dave Morin resides forefront of online technology and social networking, and is a popular global speaker. He has built up a strong resume since graduating from the University of Colorado. He’s made his mark working with the likes of Apple, Facebook and now his own company Path. His success in business has been complimented by his unwavering passion for snow sports. Just this past year, at the USSA Partner Summit Morin was a featured speaker and addressed over 200 of the organization’s partners.
“Growing up as a ski racer in Montana, the sport was a major part of my family’s heritage,” said Morin. “Today, as an entrepreneur, skiing and snowboarding are the greatest means of freedom, connection, and shared experience between my family, friends, and colleagues. I look forward to energizing my generation to play a role in supporting the goals of our Olympic athletes.”
As Morin begins his new role with the USSA, one of his first acts as trustee will be to spearhead the upcoming San Francisco Snow Ball, which is happening this weekend at The Old Mint on October 6th.
We’d like to congratulate Dave Morin and the USSA on this appointment, and look forward to another great competitive ski and snowboard season for our amazing teams!
