It may still be a few months out, but the Tahoe Snowcial is an event worth keeping an eye on as we all get geared up for the upcoming winter. The most outspoken voices in the realm of digital storytelling, snowsports and social media are set to assemble on at Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe for the fifth installment of this popular festival celebrating technology, media and a passion for playing in the snow.
The goal of the event which spans February 27 – March 2, 2013 is for individuals residing at the forefront of technology, social media and snowsports to meet, trade ideas and continue to spur innovations within the ski and snowboard industry. Past speakers include executives from the likes of Google, Klout, Foursquare, Path, Microsoft, eBay, Gowalla, Webtrends, Caesar’s Entertainment, IMG Worldwide and Vail Resorts. One of the most appealing aspects of the Tahoe Snowcial is the ability to take some turns up on the mountain with the same individuals you’ve been pontificating with during the event.
“Tahoe Snowcial is not a conference where you listen to a speech by the co-founder of Foursquare,” said Dave LaPlante, Tahoe Snowcial co-founder and chief marketing officer at Chrysallis. “It’s a conference where you listen to the speech, ski with, go to a concert and hit the blackjack tables with the co-founder of Foursquare.”
The Tahoe Snowcial is now open for early registration until December 1st. The cost is $500 and includes access to two half-day conference sessions as well as three days of skiing and snowboarding at Heavenly. There is also a concert planned at nearby Harrah’s Resort Casino, and Ignite event and a digital film fest.
