This Friday, October 19th, Salt Lake City is going to be the place to be when Warren Miller Entertainment comes to town! Action sports enthusiasts, industry VIPs and 20 of the film’s athletes will come together at Abravanel Hall to celebrate the world premiere of Flow State. Expect to see the likes of Jess McMillan, Tommy Moe, Daron Rahlves, Chris Davenport, Jackie Paaso, Tyler Ceccanti, Travis Ganong and more. Warren Miller films have been a part of snow culture for the better part of a century, creating a legacy that spans generations of skiers and snowboarders. Flow State is the 63rd film in a long line of cinematic masterpieces, which pioneered the ski film genre.

The theme of this year’s annual film seeks to pay homage to the unique connection athletes have with their environment while ripping across snow-covered slopes. Many athletes discuss a sensation that makes them feel as if the faster they ride, the slower time passes — this phenomenon is referred to as the Flow State.

Director Max Bervy explains, “The Flow State is a place where the impossible becomes possible – where time slows down and a perfect moment becomes attainable. This film reveals what it is like to be completely immersed in the present…completely immersed in the snow, in the mountains, and in the enjoyment of winter.”

Olympic Champion Skier Jonny Moseley once again assumes his role as narrator, and will also be getting some on-snow screen time as well! Moseley will be joined on screen by some of the most celebrated athletes in the industry, along with a number of promising up-and-comers. Flow State’s cast promises to light up the screen with names like Colby West, Chris Davenport, Jess McMillan, Jackie Paaso, Julian Carr, Ted Ligety and David Wise. Audience members will get a chance to follow along as these athlete’s tackle some of the most epic mountains known to man. Top locations for this year’s film include Norway, Austria, California, Switzerland, Japan, Colorado, Alaska and of course — Utah!

The action begins at Salt Lake City’s Abravanel Hall with a pre-show conference at 5:00pm, followed by the sponsor village kick off at 6:00pm. Attendees will have plenty of time to rub elbows with the film’s athletes and check out that latest and greatest from Flow State sponsors GoPro, Montana Tourism, Climate Reality Project and Ski Magazine. Then it’s curtain time, with the very first presentation of the film starting promptly at 8:00pm. In addition to being among the first to experience the latest film from Warren Miller Entertainment, attendees will receive a lift ticket for Canyons Resort, as well as $25 off at Christy Sports Ski and Board Shops. A second showing is scheduled for Saturday, October 20th at 8:00pm. After that, Flow State will be off to tour North America with over 240 cities already booked! Most screenings will be for one night only. If you want to make sure you and your friends have a seat at a nearby showing, you had better score your tickets ASAP!

For powder-hungry skiers and snowboarders, there are few things more synonymous with the beginning of winter than attending a Warren Miller premiere!

We will see you there!
