Coming up this weekend, aspiring skiers and snowboarders have an opportunity to take lessons at Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows for $30.

The price includes a beginner lift ticket, rental equipment and a lesson. It all goes down on December 8th and 9th. This is a great deal for anyone looking to pick up a new sport. The 13th Annual Learn to Ski and Snowboard Weekend is geared specifically towards beginners that are ages 3 and older.

Both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows will have special adult/teen learning stations set up that focus on a specific skill. Once mastered, participants will be cleared to advance to the next station. This unique method of  ski and snowboard education caters to the fact that everyone learns at a different pace. Anyone that needs additional time can spend as much time as they need at any given station throughout the day. Lessons will be offered between 10 am and 2 pm.

The mountains are also offering a $30 kids beginner lesson package that includes a lift ticket and equipment rental at Squaw Kids and Alpine Kids. Children that are 13 and under can participate in morning and afternoon lessons.

Morning lessons registration is from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. with pick up at 12:15 p.m.

Afternoon lesson registration is prior to 1 p.m. with pick up at 3:30 p.m.

Reservations for kids lessons are required, and can be made by calling Squaw Kids at (530) 452-7225 or Alpine Kids via the reservations center at (530) 452-4349 or (800) 403-0206.
