FIS Women's Super G in Schladming

The FIS Alpine Ski World Championships is here! Over 20,000 fans are expected in Schladming, Austria this week. Heavy snowfall on Monday with fresh powder conditions are expected to make the Women’s Super G race very interesting. Prepare to see amazing female athletes in the Audi FIS World Cup Championship in Women’s Super G this Tuesday, February 5th. The Super G top four starters of the 15 on the U.S. Team include Lindsey Vonn, Julia Mancuso, Leanne Smith and Laurenne Ross.

The odds of victory are high with silver medalist and 3rd overall FIS World Cup, Julia Mancuso. Her knowledge runs deep in ski events since this will be her sixth World Championship. 

Ski superstar and four-peat FIS super G gold medalist Lindsey Vonn, is not new to being on the podium. She is presently second in the World Cup standings. It will not be a surprise to see her have a great finish to this year’s championship.

We definitely cannot forget athletes Leanne Smith and Laurenne Ross. Smith is currently ranked 10th in the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup Super G standings and has had two top 10 standings this season. Ross is currently 15th in the World Cup Super G and was 16th in 2011 at Garmisch-Partenkirchen. 

Universal Sports and NBC will broadcast the Women’s Super G Championships at 11 a.m. EST.
